On the 14th of April, 2016 On 14 April 2016, the Athens Inquiry Council, by its decision (1338/2016) it ruled that the first charge made against Savvaidou was not substantiated and decided that there was no need to be charges filed against her in connection with her tax extension for TV ads of payment. The Council believed that the decision didn’t affect the state. The vote of the Athens Appeals Council was irrevocable after the appeal was denied. According to the Appeals Chamber, she was improperly prosecuted, without prior investigation. Consequently, her direct appeal for an Athens Trial Chamber hearing, which is the reason behind her removal prior to the expiration of her time was unlawful.
On July 6, 2017 Savvaidou was also acquitted of the second charge of attempted infidelity related to the decision to reaudit three companies by unanimous vote of the Athens Court of Appeals (1120/2017).
Finally, on August 10, 2018, the Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court decided (1292/2018) to reject the appeal of the Supreme Court of Appeal, as the reasons presented to it by Xeni Dimitriou were thus unfounded so the decision by the Athens Appeals Council became irrevocable.
On October 16, 2015 The Minister for Finance, Euclid Tsakalotos, at the request of President of Greece, Alexis Tsipras, demanded Savvaidou to step down. The reason for this was that the anti-corruption prosecutor Yiannis Dragatsis had filed charges against her. She was to answer questions about the charges on October 20th.
