Katarina Frostenson is one of the most popular and richest Linguist who was born on March 5, 1953 in Stockholm, Stockholm County, Sweden. Her birthplace was Stockholm. Their parents are Georg Frostenson (1909-2002) and Anna-Britta Elmdahl (1917-2014). The uncle of her mother, Anders Frostenson was married to politician Ulla Lidman-Frostenson (1910-1962) which was Susanna Ramel’s older maternal half-sister.

Frostenson along with her partner Arnault operated a place that showcased artwork in Stockholm known as Forum. Forum received financial support from the Swedish Academy, which sparked accusations of conflicts of interests. In the year of 2018, Frostenson was accused of corruption in the same way as Arnault was accused of sexual abuse and corruption that were leveled against Arnault. The Academy eventually decided to not expel Frostenson. This led to removal of three members of the academy. Frostenson demanded that she not be penalized for the misdeeds by her husband. But she decided to choose to leave the Academy, receiving a lifetime payment of 12,875 Swedish Kronor per month, as well as the right living in an apartment leased to the Academy.

Her numerous awards are among them her being awarded the Great Prize of the Society of Nine (1989), the Bellman Prize (1994), the Swedish Radio Prize for Lyrical Poetry (1996) The Erik Lindegren prize (2004) The Ekelof Prize (2007), the Nordic Council Literature Prize (2016) and the Litteris et Artibus medal (2007).
