Kaira Gong (simplified Chinese: Gong Shi Jia; traditional Chinese Gong Shi Jia; pinyin: Gong Shijia , born 25 July 1981 in Singapore) is a Singaporean singer who is of Shanghainese origin. She is signed by Taiwanese HIM International Music, and is known for being the apex of Taiwanese musician David Tao, as well as being the label’s mate to popular group S.H.E.
The singer sang the title tune to Singapore’s National Day Parade, 2006 named “My Island Home”. On December 25, 2007. HIM International terminated its contract with the Gong management company.
Gong confessed she is still anxious before cameras and would remain quiet when she isn’t able to communicate as fast as the Taiwan counterparts. In January 2006 Gong was said to have wept during the Taiwanese TV show called Love 9.30 (Ai Shang Jiu Dian Ban ) hosted by Jacky Wu, following Wu asked her some difficult questions. But Gong was quick to insist that she was simply home- sick at the time.

The year 2000 was when Gong’s older who was planning to participate in a songwriting contest at the National University of Singapore approached her and asked whether Gong could sing a piece of music for him as he was unable to not sing high notes in the piece. Gong was willing to help, and was awarded her the “Best Performance Award” in the contest. Gong was then invited to Goh Kheng Long (Wu Qing Long ) to sign a recording contract her first album in Taiwan. Gong was a novice to traveling outside of Singapore before , and she confessed her shyness by nature. After some reflections as well as encouragement and support from friends and family she decided to accept the invitation two years later after she was offered by Kheng Long. She also accepted the invitation before graduating in 2003. Since she graduated, the senior Gong would prefer to be identified by the name “Carl” has lost contact with her.
Gong was a spokesperson for Ragnarok Online in December 2005 as well as filmed an advertising video to promote the game. In 2011, during the Singapore Total Defence campaign, Gong was among the 39 musicians who took part in the creation of the “Home” music video.
During her performance in 2009 Singapore Entertainment Awards, Gong indicated that she was busy working on her second album. Kheng Long was also expected to participate in the production but the expected release date has not been determined. However, to date, the release of her second album has not yet materialised.
