Kahinda Otafiire is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on December 29, 1950 in Mitooma, Mitooma District, Uganda. He was born in the Mitooma District on 29 December 1950. He was a student at Kitabi Seminary, Kahinda Otafiire has a degree of Master of Arts degree in Social Science. He also has a diploma of proficiency in French Language.

In 1998 through 2001 He was the political leader for between 1998 and 2001, he was the head of Uganda Military Expedition into the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In 2001 He was named Secretary of State to Regional Cooperation, a position that he held until the year 2003. In 2003, the Minister was named Minister of Land, Water and the Environment. He held that position until 2006. Otafiire was also Minister of Local Government, prior to becoming Minister of Trade and Industry in February 2009. He was in that position until his appointment as the Justice Minister of Uganda in May 2011.

From 1994 to 1995, the delegate was appointed for the Constituent Assembly which drafted the 1995 Uganda Constitution. Then, he was Secretary of State in the Security Department from 1994 to 1995. From 1996 until 2001 Kahinda Otafiire was the Minister of State in charge of Local Government. Kahinda Otafiire was elected into the Parliament in 1996.

Kahinda Otafiire started his career as a Youth officer in 1975 to 1976. He was then an International Service officer in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 1976 until the year 1980. In 1981 Yoweri Museveni was his first ally as a member of his National Resistance Army (NRA) the guerrilla group, and was Chief Political Commissar between 1981 and 1984. In 1984 through 1986 his position was called National Political Commissar. He was and was also part of the NRA. Prior to the NRA getting authority from the military-backed junta of Kampala from 1986 onwards, the man was the Commissioner of the Internal Affairs Interim Administration, in the areas that were under NRA management from to 1986.

From 1986 to 1988 He was the minister of state for Internal Affairs. He was forced to quit in the course of firing the pistol at a woman who was in the Kampala bar. From 1988 to 1992, he was President’s Director of Security. Then, he became Director General for the External Security Organization (ESO) from 1992 to 1994.

Major General Kahinda Otafiire is a Ugandan politician and military officer. He is the current Minister of Justice & Constitutional Affairs in the Ugandan Cabinet. He was appointed to that position of 27 May 2011. Otafiire is also the elected Member of Parliament (MP) for Ruhinda County, Mitooma District in the Ugandan Parliament.
