Keezhoote Balakrishna Pillai Ghansh Kumar (born 25 May 1966) is an Indian actor, host of a television show and politician. Ganesh Kumar is the present member of the Legislative Assembly (M.L.A.) which represents his constituency of Pathanapuram (State Assembly constituency) of Kollam district in Kerala. He began his career with the role of an actor Irakal (1985) produced by K. G. George. He has appeared in more than 100 Malayalam films in various roles.

The decade that followed witnessed Ganesh Kumar rise to prominence in the political arena following an election in the Kerala State Legislative Assembly in 2001. His accession to the chair of the Ministerial Council in the same year. This was after which he abruptly resigned in 2003 in order to make room for Ganesh’s father, and the party’s chief R Balakrishna Pillai. His subsequent re-election in the year 2006 and overcoming a pro-LDF Statewide election, made him be placed as the rising star in the political scene in the State. This did not stop him from continuing to pursue the acting profession. His father, quite aptly named Balagangadhara Menon, is a seasoned and corrupt politician, and he has two diabolic sons-in-law to assist him in his dark deeds. How the son grew up to be so virtuous is a total mystery! The film, despite the exaggerated and unrealistic story line was a thorough entertainer and did extremely well at the box office.
