Jurickson Barthelomeus Protar (born 20th February 1993) is a Curacaoan professional infielder of the professional baseball team, the San Diego Padres of Major League Baseball (MLB). He played previously for MLB with The Texas Rangers and Oakland Athletics.

Profar owns two brothers. Juremi was hired to the Rangers in the year 2012. Both of Juremi and Jurdrick, the youngest brother Jurdrick have played for Curacao at Curacao’s Little League World Series.

After Team Netherlands advanced to the semi-finals for the 2013 World Baseball Classic, manager Hensley Meulens made a public plea to have Profar on the Dutch roster since Profar was born in Curacao. The Rangers gave permission for Profar to be on the roster shortly after. Profar played during the 2017 World Baseball Classic as an infielder for the national team.

After the 2013 season, the Rangers traded Kinsler, anticipating that Profar would become the Rangers’ starting second baseman.

Before the 2011 season Profar was classified as a prospect by Baseball America as the Texas Rangers second-best overall prospect, and the seventh best overall prospect. Profar played in throughout the 2011 season for the Hickory Crawdads. He was chosen for the Rangers in the 2010 All-Star Futures Game. Baseball America ranked him as the 12th most promising prospect in baseball on the midseason list of top 50 prospects. He was averaging .286/.390/.493 having scored 12 homers and 65 total runs batted-in and received the award of South Atlantic League MVP. He was named shortstop on Baseball America’s Minor League All Star team. He was selected to play at the 2012 All-Star Futures Game.
