Jung Kyung-eun started her career playing singles, however, she is now focusing on doubles. She has had the greatest successes with her doubles team of women Kim Ha-na. The pair took home their first major trophy in the India Open. In mixed doubles, she has been paired with Kim Ki-jung, however they haven’t had the same results that they did when playing doubles with the same gender.
At the 2016 Olympics she and doubles partner Shin Seung-chan won the bronze medal.

In the 2012 Summer Olympics, Jung and her partner Kim Ha-na together with Ha Jung-eun and Kim Min-jung from South Korea, Wang Xiaoli and Yu Yang of China, and Meiliana Jauhari and Greysia Polii from Indonesia were eliminated from the contest because of “not using one’s best efforts to win a match” and “conducting oneself in a manner that is clearly abusive or detrimental to the sport” after the previous night’s matches where the players were accused of seeking to lose to influence the draw. Jung along with the other teammate Kim Ha-na played against China’s Wang Xiaoli and Yu Yang. South Korea filed an appeal to the Badminton World Federation at the Olympics however, it was not accepted.
