Julia Ann Pierson (born July 21 1959) is an American former law enforcement official. She was an 23rd director for the United States Secret Service. Pierson was appointed director on the 27th of March 2013. Following a series of security issues affecting this agency Pierson quit on the 1st of October 1st in 2014.

Pierson was named to the post by president Barack Obama on March 27 2013 and became one of the few women to run the agency. Pierson held the position of the highest-ranking female in the agency prior to her promotion to director. Her job was to improve its image as a Secret Service, following the Summit of the Americas prostitution scandal. In September of 2014 when speaking in an United States House of Representatives hearing, Pierson faced Congressional criticism regarding her incident in 2014 White House intrusion. On October 1st the 1st of October, 2014 the secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson accepted her resignation as director.

After graduation, Pierson served three years as a police officer in her position in the Orlando Police Department (OPD) which was responsible for patrolling the northeastern part of Orlando. She was among one of the first female OPD agents assigned to an assigned specific beat. She was a part of in the United States Secret Service in 1983 as an agent special. She was employed as a special agent in the Miami Field Office from 1983 until 1985, and in from 1985 to 1988, and in the Orlando Field Office from 1985 until 1988. From 1988 until 2000, she was a member of the presidential protection specifics (PPDs) of the presidents George H. W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and George W. Bush. In 2000-2001, Pierson was a special agent responsible for the Office of Protective Operations, and later, deputy director assistant in the Office of Administration from 2001 until 2005. From 2005 until 2006, she was Assistant Director of the Office of Protective Operations. From 2006 until 2008, Pierson was an assistant director in the Office of Human Resources and Training. In 2008, Pierson was awarded the Presidential Meritorious Executive Rank Award. Between 2008 and her appointment as director in 2013, Pierson served as the chief of staff for director.
