Joy Kabatsi is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on February 1, 1954 in Uganda. Her birthplace was within the Sembabule District, in Buganda, Uganda, on 1 February 1954. She went to Bweranyangi Girls Senior Secondary School to complete her O-Level studies. She then transferred onto Namasagali College for her A-Level studies and graduated in 1973. She was a student at Dar es Salaam and graduated with an undergraduate degree in 1981. In the following year, she received an Diploma of Legal Practice through the Law Development Centre.
Prior to that beginning on June 6, 2016 to 14 December 2019, she was the Minister of State responsible for Animal Industry in the Ugandan Cabinet. She was replaced by Bright Rwamirama, who was dismissed from Cabinet. Due to her ministerial post as a minister, she is an ex-officio member of 10th Parliament (2016 until 2021).
She was unsuccessfully elected the position of Sembabule district women’s representative in the Parliament of Uganda, in three elections in succession. On June 6, 2016 she was appointed as the State Minister of Animal Industry.

Her career began in 1982 as an instructor in the National Institute of Public Administration located situated in Lusaka, Zambia, serving in this capacity until 1987. From 1987 to 1988, she was the Administrator of World University Service International, as well as situated in Lusaka, Zambia. She returned to her home country of Uganda in 1988, and was employed for the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development (Uganda) as a secondment by the World Bank.
In 1997, she moved into the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) and was employed there until 2001, serving as their Chief Revenue officer (Legal). From 2002 to 2004 she was Director of Executive Assistance to Commissioner General of URA. After that, she was transferred into the office of the president acting as the head of the Legal Department, from 2009 until 2012. Before the appointment Kabatsi worked as a dairy farmer commercially. She was the Director of the Entuutsi Rural Enterprise Limited’ since 2005.
Joy Kabatsi, also Joy Kabatsi Kafura, is a Ugandan lawyer, farmer and politician. As of January 2020, she is the State Minister of Transport in the Cabinet of Uganda, effective December 2019.
