Joshna took home her first WISPA Tour title back in 2008, when she took home her first title, NSC Super Satellite No 3 in Malaysia by defeating Low Wee Wern. Within a week, she defeated Wern again in the NSC Super Satellite to claim her second tour title. At the time, she had reached her highest career PSA World rank of 39.
On 2 February 2014, she won the Winnipeg Winter Open trophy – her maiden WSA world title, by defeating Egypt`s Heba El Torky 11-13 11-8 11-5 3-11 12-10 in the final.
In October, she beat Salma Hany from Egypt 11–9, 8–11, 5–11, 11–8, 11–9 to reach the semifinals of the 2015 Carol Weymuller Open. She was beat by Joelle King in the semifinals. In the first round of Qatar Classic, Joshna defeated Raneem El Welily from Egypt, who was the world no. 1 at the time. In December 2015, she reached her career-high world rank of 13. She become the highest ranked Indian woman player, overtaking Dipika Pallikal in rankings for the first time.
Joshna has been the initial beneficiary from the Mittal Champions Trust (2005 to 2014) which was a trust that supported Indian athletes, which was funded from Lakshmi Mittal and founded by Mahesh Bhupati.

Joshna Chinappa (born 15 September 1986) is an Indian professional squash player. She achieved a world record-breaking position in the category of World No. 10 in July 2016. Joshna is the only Indian to take home the British Squash Championship title in 2005 in the category of under 19 she was the youngest Indian female national champion.
The year 2000 was the time that Joshna took home her first national junior and senior championship titles. Joshna became the youngest athlete to win both titles before the age of 14 years old. When she was 14, Joshna made history when she won her first British Junior Open title in the U17 category at age 16 years old. In 2004 she was in the semi-finals of U19’s category in the same contest, where she fell against Egypt’s Omneya Abdel Kawy. The year 2005 was the time she went back to the same event to win the title by defeating Tenille Swartz from South Africa. As of 2007, Joshna declared that she is deciding to change coaches to Mohammad Medhaat to coach under Malcolm Willstrop.
In 2010, She won German Ladies Open, beating Gaby Schmohl 11–6, 11–7, 11–6 at Saarbrucken. This was her fourth tour title, first in Europe. In 2011, she won the Windy City Open, by beating her compatriot Dipika Pallikal 3–2 in the final. Joshna faced an injury lay-off in August while playing in the Hamptons Open. When she came back after a seven-month break in May 2012, she clinched the WISPA title in the 2012 Chennai Open on her hometown. Joshna defeated Sarah Jane Perry of England 9–11, 11–4, 11–8, 12–10.
