Grisetti’s real Broadway debut was in the musical It Shoulda Been You in 2015 in the role as Marty Kaufman. He was recognized by the Drama Desk Awards as well as the Outer Critics Circle for his performance, and also won two of the 2014 Clarence Derwent Awards. He was back on Broadway on the stage in 2016, to play John Cariani as Nigel Bottom in “Something Rotten!”

Grisetti played the role of “Eugene Morris Jerome” in the musical at York Theatre’s 2008-2009 adaptation of Enter Laughing (originally titled So Long 17th Street) and was awarded an Theatre World Award for “Outstanding Debut Performance” along with being nominated for Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, Lucille Lortel and Drama League Award nominations. Grisetti was to make his Broadway debut during the 2009-2010 season. He starred in the role of “Eugene Morris Jerome” in the Neil Simon revival of Broadway Bound which was directed by David Cromer. Because of the low sales for tickets, Broadway Bound’s sister show (Brighton Beach Memoirs) was cancelled just days after its debut in the Nederlander Theatre, canceling Broadway Bound two weeks prior to the show’s scheduled debut.

Grisetti is a native of Washington, D.C. and was raised within Franklin County, Virginia. He went to high school at the North Carolina School of the Arts and graduated in 2000 with an award in the field of drama. He went to college with The Boston Conservatory where he was awarded the degree of Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre.

In this memoir, Grisetti claims he overdosed on pain medications while at his dentist’s office and experienced a Near Death Experience in which God essentially explained to him the secrets of the Universe. These ‘secrets’ are New Age in orientation, similar to the writings of Eckhart Tolle (A New Earth) and William Young (The Shack). The book was originally self-published, but subsequently purchased by Tantor Media and republished as an audiobook.
