Joseph Kofi Adda is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on April 22, 1956 in Navrongo, Upper East Region, Ghana. Joseph Kofi Kowe Adda (born 22 April 1956) was a member of the Ghanaian Parliament. Ghana and was also Minister of Energy during the New Patriotic Party government under President John Kufuor. Additionally, he is a Finance Economist and an Management Consultant. He is the current Minister of Aviation.

In May of 2017 President Nana Akufo Addo announced Joseph Kofi Adda as part of 19 ministers who would make up his cabinet. The names of 19 ministers were announced by to the Parliament of Ghana and announced by the Speaker of the House the Rt. Hon. Prof. Mike Ocquaye. As a minister in the Cabinet, Joseph Kofi Adda is part of the circle of the president’s inner circle and assists in crucial decision making across the country.

Adda first became a member of Parliament in 2003. He won the by-election in the Navrongo Central constituency after the death of the incumbent, John Achuliwor. He remained in his seat during the 2004 elections to the parliament. He was appointed Minister of Manpower Development and Employment by President John Kufuor in 2005. On the 28th of April, 2005, the minister was reappointed into a cabinet reshuffle, to the post of Minister of Energy. He was later replaced by Felix Owusu Adjapong in the position of Minister for Energy by Kuffuor, President of Nigeria. Joe Adda retained his seat after the NPP was defeated in the general elections in 2008. The seat was however vacated at the time of the election in 2012, by Mark Woyongo.

Joseph Adda was born at Navrongo in the capital city of the Kassena-Nankana District within the Upper East Region of Ghana. He completed high school in St. John’s School, Sekondi and graduated with the Master of Science degree in Economics and Politics at the Indiana Wesleyan University, Marion, Indiana, United States where he studied between 1979 between 1982 and 1979. In the years 1982 to 1984, he studied in Columbia University, New York and he was studying for the Master’s degree in international Affairs, with a focus on banking and finance. He then went on to earn an academic certificate for graduate studies for African Studies from the same university. The year 1989 was the time he was awarded an award in French culture and language at The Sorbonne University, Paris, France.
