The Baltimore Orioles signed Link to an minor league contract on the 16th of December the 16th of December, 2011. Link appeared in 18 games of AAA with the Norfolk Tides and was 1-2 with an 3.48 ERA before the Orioles let him go.

After making 7 starts to begin 2013 with the Wichita Wingnuts in the American Association of Independent Professional Baseball, he signed a minor league contract with the Detroit Tigers, where he was assigned to Double-A Erie. After 5 starts with the SeaWolves, he was promoted to Triple-A Toledo, where he made 11 appearances (7 starts) before season’s end. In 23 appearances (19 starts) in 2013, he went 9-6 with a 2.80 ERA, striking out 78 in 135 innings.

Link returned to Wichita in 2014 and pitched with the Wingnuts until August, when his contract was purchased by the Miami Marlins. He was sent to the Double-A Jacksonville Suns.

On the 18th of December 2009 the team traded him with the Los Angeles Dodgers (along with John Ely) for Juan Pierre. He started the 2010 season as the third-baseman to the Triple-A Albuquerque Isotopes. On April 18 the 18th, he was summoned into the Dodgers and made his debut on the Major League roster. The Dodgers made him Major League debut on April 20, 2010 , against his team, the Cincinnati Reds. He pitched two scoreless inning of relief during his debut and was then sent back to Albuquerque following the game. Link was also included on the Dodgers roster for a couple of days in June after Chad Billingsley was injured. Link was reinstated again on the 11th of July as the Dodgers offered the player whom he had traded, John Ely, to Triple-A Albuquerque as a result. Link returned to AAA shortly after, before rejoining the Dodgers as rosters grew in September. He appeared in nine games for the Dodgers in the field, pitching 8.2 innings to earn an 4.15 ERA. In Albuquerque his record was 3-3 with an 3.71 ERA in 45 games as well as making one appearance. After the seasonended, Link played with his team the Phoenix Desert Dogs in the Arizona Fall League. Following the waiver cuts on April 5th 2011 Link received a roster spot with the Isotopes.
