He was a pioneer in competitive gaming , and was thought to be one of the top professional gamers on the planet. He was the founder of Fatal1ty Inc., which licenses the Fatal1ty brand to the manufacturers of gaming equipment.
Wendel was a highly successful player in a variety of First-person shooting games. He made his debut as a professional player in the month of October, 1999 by winning his first Quake III Arena competition at the CPL’s FRAG 3 event. He has participated in competitions using Counter-Strike, Call of Duty and Quake III Arena, which he was able to win with his team clan Kapitol in the inaugural CPL Teamplay World Championships (FRAG 4). The majority of his wins were in one-on-one deathmatch games such as Quake III Arena Unreal Tournament 2003, and Painkiller.
