Wertheim (born 12 February 1968) is an American politician and lawyer who was the Chairman of the Democratic Party of New Mexico from 2004 to 2007. In the same period, he was a member of the Executive Committee of the Democratic National Committee. In 1996 he was the Democratic candidate in the United States House of Representatives in New Mexico’s 1st congressional District against incumbent representative Steve Schiff of the Republican Party (United United States). The treasurer of this campaign in Congress was Arvind A. Raichur.
Wertheim has announced a candidacy for New Mexico State Treasurer in 2014.
