John Tambouras is one of the most popular and richest Australian footballer who was born on January 30, 1979 in Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia. John Tambouras (born 30 January 1979 in Darwin, Australia) is a retired Australian footballer.
In October 2010, Tambouras was appointed the trainer in skills acquisition in Tambouras was appointed as the trainer for skills acquisition in Northern Territory, a role that was created and partly paid for by FFA. He works mostly with students aged 9-13 years old, teaching students how to use the national Curriculum.
He then went abroad and played in his parent’s country of Greece for Kalamata. During his time here, he played against Olympiacos in the Intertoto Cup which was drawn 1–1.
After a time of sporadic play throughout Asia in Asia and Europe, John was signed in June 2009 by the A League’s newest club North Queensland Fury for their debut A League season.

After his experience in Greece the Greek club signed him to New Zealand’s sole professional team that is the Auckland Kingz for the 2003-2004 Australian NSL season. In that season, he was awarded the team’s “Player of the Year” award.
Post Knights He was a trialist with Romanian team FC Universitatea Craiova in January 2007. He was unsuccessful in securing an official position at the club. However, he received a deal with Irish team Drogheda United in July the same year. While at Drogheda he participated at the Uefa Cup qualifying rounds and helped the club achieve the Fai Eircom League of Ireland for the first time in club history.
On 2 March 2010 Tambouras went on trial, and then accepted a deal, from Chinese second division outfit Guangzhou Evergrande to play in the upcoming season. He made his China League One debut for Guangzhou against Pudong Zobon on 10 April. Just playing two matches for Guangzhou, Tambouras was released in June.
