John Pinone is one of the most popular and richest Basketball Player who was born on February 19, 1961 in Hartford, Connecticut, United States. John Gabriel Pinone Jr. (born on 19th February 1959) was a former American pro basketball star.

A third-round draftee from 1983, Pinone played seven games in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for the Atlanta Hawks in the 1983-84 season. After spending the remainder of the season with the Ohio Mixers, of the CBA and earning an appearance in the ’84 CBA All-Star Game; he was drafted into CB Estudiantes of the Spanish Liga ACB during the 1984-85 season and played for them through the season 1992-1993.

Pinone later became the Cromwell High School boys’ basketball team coach, and coached them to a class S state championship in the 2009 and 2018 seasons.

Pinone pleaded guilty, in October 2010, to a misdemeanor of filing a false tax return, and in December 2010, he was sentenced to six months of home confinement, six months probation, and a $10,000 fine.

Pinone was a member of his US national team at 1982’s FIBA World Championship, where Pinone took home the silver medal.

Pinone played in the competitive sports in the sport at South Catholic High School in Hartford and led South Catholic to win the Class L state championships both in 1977 as well as 1979. In the season 1978-79, Pinone and South Catholic defeated Middletown to end their winning streak of over 80 games longest in the history of the state.

Pinone played in the NCAA basketball tournament as a member of his team the Villanova Wildcats from 1979 to 1983. He was selected as third-team All- American when he was a senior. Pinone received first-team All-Big-East Conference recognition three times, and was a first team All-Philadelphia Big 5 player four times. Pinone is the sole freshman player in Villanova history to be the leading scorer on the team and Villanova removed the number 45 in the year 1995.

He won the Spanish Cup in the 1991-92 season, and contributed to Estudiantes reaching the 1992 EuroLeague Final Four. In his Liga ACB tenure with Estudiantes, Pinone played 12,306 minutes, played in 332 games, scored 6,175 points, secured 2,193 rebounds, and averaged 18.6 points per game. He was selected for the ACB All-Star Game in 1989 and 1991. During the nine seasons he played with Estudiantes, Pinone left a durable mark in the history of the club, because of his solid team basketball, and his competitive character.
