John Korfas is one of the most popular and richest Basketball Player who was born on August 21, 1962 in Akron, Ohio, United States. John Anthony Korfas (Greek: Tzon Korphas; born August 21 in 1962) is a former Greek-American professional basketball player as well as an experienced basketball trainer. An EuroLeague All-Final Four Team member in 1993, he took home three FIBA Europe continental trophies at the club level including the EuroLeague in 1996 as well as the Saporta Cup in 1991, and the Korac Cup in 1994. As the player known by his nickname, he was Tintin. The name was popular in Europe due to his unique one-handed jump shot.
After the departure of PAOK after 1995 Korfas worked for PAO and won the EuroLeague championship and the Greek Cup with the team in 1996. He also made it of the FIBA Club World Cup the following year. In 1998, he relocated to Maroussi and was able to take third place in the club’s final four at the Greek Cup final four of 2000.
Korfas was a player with PAOK, the Greek League club PAOK, where he was a finalist for the Cup Winners Cup in 1991 and also the Greek League championship in 1992, Korac Cup in 1994 as well as the Greek Cup in 1995. While with PAOK, Korfas was also a finalist in the Cup Winners’ Cup in 1992 and was a Greek Cup finalist in 1989 1990, 1991, and 1989. Korfas also won the third spot with PAOK in the 1993 EuroLeague Final Four in Athens as well as being named to make the EuroLeague All-Final Four Team in the procedure.
