John Charles Baron (born 21 June 1959) is a British Conservative politician who has been the MP (MP) from Basildon as well as Billericay since 2010. He had been a member of the previous district of Billericay between 2001 and 2010. Baron has been a rebel against his party quite often especially in demand for an election referendum over the European Union before the 2015 election and his opposition to an intervention by the US military in Iraq, Libya and Syria.

He was re- appointed by Duncan Smith as a health spokesman four months later, a position he held until July 2007 when he was moved to the Conservative Whip’s Office.

Baron was a strong backer of David Davis in the 2005 Conservative leadership election, having also supported him in the 2001 leadership contest won by Iain Duncan Smith.

The 3rd January of 1988 was the day He was transferred onto his new unit, the Regular Army Reserve of Officers. This marked the end of his military service, however the possibility of calling back. He resigned his military commission at the beginning of June 1997.
