Johanna Vuoksenmaa (born 21 September 1965) is a Finnish television screenwriter and director of film who also works as an installation artist, photographer as well as a teacher. The films she has made have been showcased at various film festivals across the globe and she has received numerous Finnish TV and film awards for screenwriting and directing. As a screenwriter and director, Vuoksenmaa prefers the comedy genre since comedy is relief, forgiveness, and defence. She does not employ casting agencies, instead preferring to hire actors for the films she is making, because she believes that it helps create an atmosphere of confidence between actors and director.

It was involved in the several other projects. After graduation she became famous with the help of a filmmaker in her feature-length film Nousukausi (Upswing) written by Mika Ripatti. The film was awarded the Finnish Jussi-award, which is awarded to the top film of 2004. Vuoksenmaa was presented with an honourary certificate for her role as director of the film at Viitasaari Festival.
