Lebanon War. She was awarded a grant by the Richard H. Driehaus Foundation to screen this film in the Dublin Diplomatic Conference on Cluster Munitions in which she also fought for the elimination of cluster bombs.

Jocelyn Ajami was born and was raised in Caracas, Venezuela to a Lebanese Greek Orthodox family. She immigrated from America as a child. United States as a child in the year 1961. She educated at Manhattanville College with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, and was later awarded a master’s degree in art and history from the institution of Rosary College located at Villa Schifanoia in Italy close to Florence.

Ajami began creating film documentary, as well as experimental videos in the year 1991. Her first film, experimental “The Tiger and the Cube” was displayed in the Boston Institute of Contemporary Art. Following her participation in the Gulf War, Ajami made “Jihad”, a short video about the meaning of the word “jihad”, which Ajami believes is a reference to the internal effort to be a better person, not a ferocious battle against the other. The film received an honorable award during the 1992 American Film and Video Festival. The film “Oasis of Peace”, about the existence of an Israeli village in which Jews and Palestinians are living in harmony It was screened in the Museum of Modern Art in New York City in 1995 and was awarded the Merit Finalist Award from the Houston International Film Festival.
