Joanna Edwards MNZM (born 5 February 1970) is an New Zealand international lawn bowls participant. Her achievements include two world championships as well as three Commonwealth Games gold medals.

Alongside World Bowls and Commonwealth Games successes, she has also won five gold medals (nine medals total) in the Asia Pacific Bowls Championships and performed well in this year’s APL (Australian Premier League) in which she was the only woman to compete in the eight-team competition that included 24 of the best athletes and competed alongside her teammates Ali Forsyth and Shannon McIlroy to take home the trophy in the Club Pine Rivers.

She was selected as part of the New Zealand team for the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast in Queensland, where she claimed a gold medal in the Singles.

Edwards has won six World Cup Singles titles (a women’s record) with the latest success being in 2019. Previous wins were in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013 and 2017.

In 2014, she took home her second Commonwealth Games gold medal after winning the women’s singles event in Glasgow.
