born to an ethnic Korean parents Jin attended a nearby Korean Elementary school. Her father worked for the department of police. The police department praised her as extremely skilled and had been a winner of Abacus contests numerous times. She was extremely enthusiastic in dancing. When she was 9 she joined the People’s Liberation Army to receive dancing and military instruction from a dance group that was part of the Shenyang Military district. At the age of 12, she moved to the People’s Liberation Army graduating in 1984. After graduation , she joined the Shenyang military dance troupe, and eventually achieving the rank of colonel. Then she was awarded the national dance contest by performing an Central Asian ethnic dance piece.

She was able to study under the pioneers of modern dance like Limon, Cunningham, and Graham. Then, she performed and traveled throughout Europe and also she taught dancing in Rome from 1991 until 1993. Then she embarked on an international tour. She returning in China when she was 26 years old. She underwent sex-reassignment surgery in the year 1995. Her left leg became paralyzed for some time following the operation. In 2000, Jin moved between Beijing in China to Shanghai and began her dance troupe. At 33years old, Jin took on a child and later two additional children she took care of until she got married in 2005. She is currently living with her three adopted children as well as her German spouse in Shanghai.

Her film debut was in the Korean movie Resurrection of the Little Match Girl in 2002. In 2005, she appeared in the Thai movie Tom-Yum-Goong as the villain Madam Rose. She later participated in the Stock Exchange of Visions project in 2007.
