Jeremiah Riggs (born December 12 1982) is an American professional wrestler and mixed martial artist that competes in middleweight and welterweight divisions. Professional MMA athlete since 2007 Riggs has established an impression competing in the Midwest and in the state he grew up in, Mississippi. He competed for the Spike TV show The Ultimate Fighter: Team Rampage against Team Forrest and also competing for WWE Tough Enough.

In May of 2011, Riggs made his debut in Florida Championship Wrestling, the development territory of the WWE. Riggs defeated Peter Orlov in his first match in Tough Enough. Tough Enough Finale. But, Riggs was released after being told that WWE did not have any interest in signing him after the match in FCW after he slapped officials and wrestlers in incorrectly.

On March 16, 2012 Riggs officially came out of retirement at Bellator 61 in Bossier City, Louisiana to fight Trey Houston in a “Middleweight Tournament Qualifier”. In 2015 Riggs walked away from MMA and pursued a career in bull riding, competing on small circuits in the midwest and southeast United States.

Riggs was in a fight with newcomer Dom O’Grady, losing the fight by submission in the final round. The loss was the beginning of a losing streak that lasted four fights running from 2008 to 2010. In that span, he suffered loss to his soon-to-be teammates Ken Jackson, and future UFC fighter John Salter. Riggs ended the streak in February of 2010 after performing a stunning choke triangle over Jesse Beale. After his loss, Riggs was on a winning five-fight streak. His wins came during the Bellator Fighting Championships, and Strikeforce. In the year 2011, Riggs officially retired from MMA to pursue his dream of a career with professional wrestling.

After graduating from college, Riggs was drafted into after graduation, he joined the United States Army and served on a tour of Afghanistan as part of the 1st Ranger Battalion. After being discharged from the Army in 2005, Riggs worked around Mississippi working in trucks to earn income, even running his own trucking company.

Riggs made his professional debut against Craig Sjoerdsma in New Orleans, Louisiana. Riggs took the win via submission by striking in the opening round. Riggs was then in a fight with Robert Thompson for the Southern Fighting Alliance middleweight title belt. The bout lasted 5 rounds in which Riggs only narrowly lost a decision. During the fight one of Riggs teeth on his front was smashed out. In 2007, Riggs closed his trucking business and relocated into San Jose to train MMA alongside Frank Shamrock. Riggs was scheduled to become an integral part of the San Jose Razorclaws, an International Fight League team coached by Shamrock however, Shamrock’s team disbanded and disbanded by the IFL prior to the start of the season.

In March 2011, he was announced as one of the fourteen contestants for the return of WWE Tough Enough on the USA Network. Throughout the show, Riggs was complimented on his heart and athleticism. He was nicknamed “MMA” by the trainers because of his mixed martial arts background. Along with Martin, he was one of just two contestants to not get stuck in the bottom three. Riggs finished third on the show, being eliminated in week nine because of his inexperience inside the ring.
