Jaska Raatikainen is one of the most popular and richest Musician who was born on July 18, 1979 in Lappeenranta, South Karelia, Finland. Jaska Raatikainen (born on the 18th of July 1979) is a Finnish musician. He is most well-known as the drummer who was co-founder of the group Children of Bodom from 1993 until the time of his departure in 2019.

He also assisted quite several bands that required a skilled drummer. When Sinergy was on their 2001 European tour, the drummer was replaced by Tommi Lillman who had injured her leg. The problem was that this occurred three days prior to the start of the tour. This meant that Raatikainen needed to learn quickly how to play 10 Sinergy songs. Despite the extreme difficulty, he was able perform extremely well, and the fans of both bands loved seeing the two of them Raatikainen and Laiho on stage along with Sinergy. In the Suicide by My Side album’s booklet, the band composed a dedication thank you to Raatikainen for, in themselves, “saving [their] tour”.

Up to the recording of the album Hatebreeder, Raatikainen was endorsed by Sonor drums and by Sabian cymbals. He eventually lost the deal with Sonor and for some time played with different drumsets, until settling with Pearl drums in 2003. His drumsticks are custom Millennium II sticks from Pro Mark with his name engraved on them.

Raatikainen has two brothers; Jussi, who plays for numerous professional Finnish metal bands, as well as Julius, who plays for melodic death metal band Kauna. In early 2010, he became the father of a baby girl.

When Raatikainen was introduced to Alexi Laiho while at school in 1993, they discovered that they had the same ideas and musical tastes. So, they started making music together and forming their group Inearthed which would later evolve into the Children of Bodom. The group released their debut album, Ubiquitous Absence of Remission and Jaska contributed keyboards. Jaska was a key player when it came to the creation of the group in that Jaska was the one who brought Alexander Kuoppala and Janne Wirman to their lineup. Jaska also sang backing vocals for the song titles “Warheart”, “Black Widow” and “Children of Bodom” from the album of his group, Hatebreeder.

Raatikainen has worked on a variety of extra projects, some of which were unrelated to music. In 2000 he was contacted by the producer of a famous Finnish soap drama (Siamin Tytto) to take on a unique role in the show. He played the role of Rauli in three of the episodes until the character’s demise. He was able to showcase some of his drumming skills prior to the incident, however. According to Raatikainen has always wanted to be an actor however he has no plans to further develop his career.

On the 2002 tribute to Chuck Schuldiner – mastermind of one of the most notable death metal bands of all time, Death – Raatikainen, who is a fan of the band, played a couple of cover songs with Norther. A year later, Raatikainen formed a side project with Norther’s guitarist Kristian Ranta entitled Gashouse Garden, which has not yet been signed to any recording label.
