Moodie won her second LPGA title in 2002 at the Asahi Ryokuken International Championship. She was controversially not selected by Dale Reid as a captain for the Solheim Cup, having chosen to play in America rather than the LET during the selection process. Captain Catrin Nailsmark chose Moodie to represent the Solheim Cup 2003. She won three and a quarter points and paved her way in singles when she beat Kelli Keuhne 3&2. Moodie was also inducted into San Jose State University Sports Hall of Fame in 2003. Moodie was also inducted into the National Golf Coaches Association Hall of Fame at the beginning of 2004
1998 saw three top ten finishes for Moodie. Fourth place was her best result, which she won once in Europe at Weetabix Women’s British Open. She also won the City of Hope Myrtle Beach Classic in the United States. In the Rolex Rookies of the Year race, she finished second to Se Ri Pak. She won her maiden title at the ShopRite LPGA Classic in 2000. This was her second win on the LPGA Tour.

Moodie was born in Glasgow. Her mother, an ex-6-handicap golfer, taught her how to play at Windyhill Golf Club, Bearsden, Scotland, when she was 11. She left school at 16 and began working in a grocery and Greaves sporting goods shop in Glasgow. Her mother’s brain aneurysm left her blind and she had to delay her college application. Moodie continued working in the grocery store and Greaves sporting-goods shop in Glasgow for three and a quarter years. She also worked in nightclubs during the winter so that she could continue playing competitive golf in the summer. She won the 1992 Scottish Women’s Strokeplay Championship. In 1994, she represented Great Britain and Ireland at the Curtis Cup. Her win over Carol Semple Thompson in her final singles match was a 9-9 tie that kept the Curtis Cup in GB&I. She was also a member of the winning 1996 team in Killarney and finished 2nd in the 1996 Espirito Sante Trophy World Amateur Championship.
Moodie enrolled at San Jose State University in order to play collegiate golf with the Spartans. She graduated in 1997 with a psychology degree. She won 12 collegiate tournaments, including the 1995 GolfWorld/Palmetto Dunes, 1996 Stanford Women’s Intercollegiate, and 1997 Peg Barnard Cal Collegiate. She was the 1994-1996 Big West Champion, Big West Athlete and of the Year 1994-1996. She also finished in the top ten at each year’s NCAA Championships 1994-1997, earning First-Team All-American honors every year from 1994-1997. From 1996 to 1997, she had the lowest average scoring on her team and she won the Golfstat Cup 1996. In 1997, she became a professional and was able to qualify for the LPGA Tour. She tied for 21st at LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament in order to be non-exempt for 1998.
In 2005 Moodie together with Catriona Matthew represented Scotland in the inaugural Women’s World Cup of Golf in South Africa and was part of the International Team at the first staging of the Lexus Cup. Moodie and Matthew continued their partnership at the 2006 Women’s World Cup of Golf and made it three appearance in a row when she paired with Mhairi McKay in the 2007 staging.
