Zwicky earned her BA at the University of Calgary. She then went on to earn her PhD at the University of Toronto, where she studied philosophy of logic as well as science. Her teaching experience includes philosophy at Princeton University, philosophy and interdisciplinary studies at the University of Waterloo, philosophy at Western Ontario, philosophy at The University of Western Ontario, philosophy, English and creative writing at The University of New Brunswick, and philosophy at University of Alberta.
Zwicky is Professor Emerita at the University of Victoria’s Department of Philosophy. She taught philosophy and interdisciplinary courses there from 1996 to 2009. Since 1985, she has been an editor at Brick Books and was a Banff Centre Writing Studio faculty member. She has been the series editor of Oksana Poetry and Poetics since 2017.
