Pedersen signed in 1983 for the Cradley Heath Heathens. His first British match saw him return five points to Birmingham’s Second City individual Trophy, 18 March. Dudley Wood’s future was already planned almost a full year before he was recommended by Bent Rasmussen to Heathens manager Peter Adams. Three more clubs came knocking on his door over the next months, but Pedersen made a public pledge to Cradley in August.
Pedersen’s debut season ended with a 7.20 league average. Cradley’s team total rose to over 60+ points when they won the British League. Colin Pratt, the new manager, decided to loan the Dane out. He spent 1984 with Sheffield. Even though he had a broken arm that season, he still did enough to convince Maurice Ducker, Tigers’ promoter, that he was worth purchasing. Pratt refused to sell, and Pedersen returned to Dudley Wood in 1985 to begin an 8-year uninterrupted stint with the club. Pedersen was a success in club, country, and individual. He won the World Championship 1991 with bronze and silver World Individual medals.
In 1999, he raced in the 25th Anniversary meeting at Denmark’s Vojens track. A series of competitive races were held involving old and current international stars, including Gary Havelock, Henrik Gustafsson and Jesper B. Monberg. Pedersen managed to win every one of his races in his first track return since his career-ending accident in 1992.
