Hung Chi-chang is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on August 23, 1951 in Changhua, Taiwan. Hung Chi-chang, pinyin Hong Qichang & Chinese: Hong Qi Chang – born 23 August 1951) was a Taiwanese politician. From 12 July 2007 to 19 Mai 2008, he was Chairman of Straits Exchange Foundation (SEF).
Hung tried to be reelected as a legislator via the Democratic Progressive Party list, but was unsuccessful in securing a seat.
Hung was elected chairman of the foundation by the board of directors and supervisors at the SEF during a provisional meeting held on 12 July 2007. Hung expressed his belief that the SEF would improve its services to Taiwanese people and businesses on both sides the Taiwan Strait. Some Taiwan independence supporters were against his appointment due to his support of a proposal to raise the 40% investment ceiling for investments by Taiwanese enterprises in Mainland China.
