Hisako, Princess Takamado is one of the most popular and richest Translator who was born on July 10, 1953 in Tokyo, Japan. Hisako was born in Tokyo, Shirokane on the 10th of July 1953. Shigejiro Tottori, a Japanese industrialist, is her eldest child. Hisako traveled with her father to England. He was then transferred to work and became fluent in English while still a child. In 1975, she graduated from Girton College in Cambridge with undergraduate degrees. She returned to Japan in 1982 to work for a translation firm. However, she soon returned to England to study the legal terminology in statutes. In 1982, she returned to Japan. She was then hired by Prince Mikasa to be an interpreter and assistant for the 31st International Asian-North African Cultural Symposium. In February 2012, Princess Takamado was awarded a doctorate in arts at the Osaka University of Arts.
Prince and Princess Takamado, the most traveled couple in Japan’s Imperial Family, visited 35 countries in 15 years. They also represented Japan at various functions. The last three visits of the Prince included Egypt, Morocco and Hawaii in May 2000 and July 2001 to promote the Japanese tea ceremony. He also visited the Republic of Korea between May and June 2002. This was to attend the opening ceremony of the 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan. The visit of the Princess and Prince to Korea, which was a significant step towards promoting friendly bilateral relations between Japan & Korea, was a first Japanese royal visit since World War II. The couple visited Korea extensively and met President Kim Dae-jung as well as ordinary Koreans. He also visited facilities in South Korea for the physically handicapped that Princess Masako Nashimoto had sponsored.
In June 2003, she visited Dublin, Ireland for the 2003 Special Olympics World Summer Games. In June 2004, she made an official visit to Canada, traveling extensively across the nation as part of the 75th Anniversary of the formal diplomatic relations between Canada and Japan. During this visit, she received two honorary doctorates in Law, one from the University of Alberta and the other from the University of Prince Edward Island. In November 2004, she visited Bangkok, Thailand, to attend the 3rd IUCN World Conference as Honorary President of BirdLife International.
In March 2004, the Princess was elected to succeed Queen Noor of Jordan as Honorary President of BirdLife International. She visited Montevideo, Uruguay in 2008, and Buenos Aires, Argentina for the Birdlife World Conservation Conference. During this visit, she attended special high goal polo exhibition played by the Novillo Astrada brothers in her honor at the La Aguada Polo Club.
Two children’s books were published by the Princess in English: Katie and the Dream-Eater, 1996, and Lulie the Iceberg, 1998.

Hisako, Princess Takamado (Xianren Qin Wang Fei Jiu Zi & Norihito Shinnohi Hisako), was born Hisako Tottori (Niao Qu Jiu Zi – Tottori Hisako; 10 July 1953), and is a member the Japanese Imperial Family as the widow Norihito Prince Takamado.
She met Prince Takamado Norihito at a reception hosted in Tokyo by the Embassy of Canada on 23 April 1984. The Imperial Household Council declared the engagement to him on August 1, 1984.
