Henry Christian Priestman, born 21 June 1955 in Kingston upon Hull (East Riding of Yorkshire), England, is an English singer, keyboardist and record producer.

Priestman composed the title song of the West End musical Dreamboats and Petticoats and three songs for Graham Gouldman’s 2012 album Love and Work.

In 2015, he released his first solo live DVD entitled Settle Down, recorded live at Victoria Hall in Settle, Yorkshire.

Priestman produced Mark Owen’s 2003 Top 5 Album, In Your Own Time. Priestman’s debut solo album, The Chronicles of Modern Life was released on Stiff Records on 22 September 2008. Tobbe Stuhre did the artwork. Island Records purchased the entire album for a major reissue. Priestman was the oldest artist to have a solo debut album signed by a major label when Island Records purchased the album from Stiff. He also composed music for digital age, including the James Bond Xbox game, BBC TV’s Wildlife on One, and Natural World. He also wrote the music for many commercials.

Priestman was educated at Woodleigh School in North Yorkshire, then at Quaker School, Leighton Park School and finally at Liverpool College of Art. He was a member of the British power-pop band Yachts in the late 1970s. Yachts supported The Who during their 1979 European tour. Priestman was one co- founder of It’s Immaterial in 1980. Priestman had already left the band in 1986 but he remained as a session musician for the hit song “Driving Away From Home” and was a regular on Top of the Pops.

He was a member and founder of The Christians in the 1980s and 1990s. Mike Badger and Bette Bright used Priestman as session musicians. Priestman was a keyboard player on Badger’s albums Lo Fi Acoustic Excursions By Mike Badger & Friends (2004), the Onset (2005) and Lo Fi Electric Excursions By Mike Badger & Friends (2006).

He supported Fisherman’s Friends in 2011, and played a slot at the Beverley Folk Festival in 2013. He continues to enjoy live work, and released his second album, The Last Mad Surge of Youth on 17 February 2014.
