Helen Southworth is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on November 13, 1956 in City of Preston, England, United Kingdom. Helen Mary Southworth, born 13 November 1956, is an ex-Labour Party politician who is currently the Chief Executive of Age Concern Isle of Man. She was elected as the first Member of Parliament (MP), for Warrington South at the 1997 general elections. She was elected to the Warrington South constituency at both the 2005 and 2001 general elections. Each time, she had a smaller majority. She announced her intention to retire at the next general elections on 15 June 2009. David Mowat won the seat she vacated and became the Conservative Party’s new leader. She was the only person who won consecutive elections in the constituency, until Conservative David Mowat won the 2015 General Election.

Southworth was a member of House of Commons select committees for Trade and Industry (1998-2001), and Procedure (1997-1999). From 2001 to 2005, she was the Parliamentary Private Secretary of Paul Boateng (the former Chief Secretary at the Treasury). She was elected to the Culture, Media and Sport select panel in 2005, which examined the implementation of the London 2012 Olympic Games.

On 16 June 2009, Southworth announced her intention to stand down at the next general election, citing her desire to spend more time with her family.

After completing her term as an MP, Southworth moved with her husband to the Isle of Man. In 2014 she became CEO of Age Isle of Man having previously been CEO of Age Concern in St Helens for thirteen years before she stepped down in 2010.

Southworth served as a councillor for St Helens Borough Council before she entered Parliament. She was also the chairperson of St Helens Borough Council’s Leisure Committee. At the 1992 General Election, she unsuccessfully ran for the Wirral South constituency. She was the Director of Age Concern in St Helens.
