Hasan Mahboob Ali, a long-distance runner from Bahrain who was born in Kenya to Silas Kirui (31 December 1981 in Kapsabet). Before the 2006 season, he was naturalized a citizen of Bahrain by switching from Kenya. His personal record for 10,000m is 27:22.40, which he achieved in Wageningen in May 2012.
He was fourth in a sweep by Bahraini of the top four spots at the 2012 Asian Cross Country Championships and shared the team title.
Mahboob had another top ten finish at 2011 IAAF World Cross Country Championships. However, his primary focus was on the track. He won his second 10,000-meter title at the Asian Athletics Championships in 2011 and finished second to Josphat Mejo two weeks later at Military World Games 2011. He chose to run the longer distance at 2011 World Championships in Athletics but was unable to finish the race.
