He is best known for his role in Downton Abbey’s television series as Herbert Pelham (7th Marquess) of Hexham.
He was the Olivier Award-winning actor in Flare Path, which won the Theatre Royal Haymarket an Olivier Award, and as Teddy Graham in Flare Path’s revival. In a film adaptation, Jackie Jackson portrays The Deep Blue Sea. Both films were made to commemorate the centenary of Terence Rattigan, an English playwright.
From 2016 to 2017, he played the role of Martin Charteris in the first two seasons of the Netflix series The Crown.
Hadden-Paton played the lead role of Henry Higgins in the Lincoln Center Theater revival of My Fair Lady on Broadway, a performance for which he was nominated for the 2018 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical.
He is married Rebecca Night, a fellow actor whom he met while performing on The Importance Of Being Earnest. They have been married for over ten years and have two children, Martha and Audrey. Night and Hadden-Paton star together in The King’s Speech, a Chicago Shakespeare Theater production that takes place in the fall 2019.
