Luntiala’s debut novel Viimeiset vistit (“Last Messages”), was published in 2007. It tells a complete story through text messages. It is believed to be the first text message novel in the world. Viimeiset viestit won the 2008 European Book Prize (Prix du Livre Europeen). It has been translated into Croatian, Slovenian and Hungarian as well as Russian, Estonian, and Estonian.

Luntiala’s third novel, Petri Vallin toinen elämä (“The Other Life of Petri Vall”), was released in 2010. It is about a man who steals a dead man’s identity, abandoning his old life and starting a new one as Petri Vall.
