Guy Schwartz is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on February 17, 1952 in United States. Guy Schwartz, born February 17, 1952, is an American musician. He is a bandleader, songwriter and videographer. He is also a media activist and presidential candidate for 2016. His most notable achievements include his collaboration with Texas musicians and a few regional minor-hit records from the 1970s and 1980s.
Schwartz founded the band RELAYER in 1976. They only released RELAYER – 1977. However, they found an underground audience in the US as well as parts of Europe due to the guitar playing of Michael Knust of Texas’ Fever Tree and the similarity of their name to that of an album by British prog rockers, Yes.
In 1980, Schwartz teamed with Randy Soffar and formed Z-ROCKS, a new-wave power-pop band that had 3 minor regional hits fueled by touring with the likes of Duran Duran, Todd Rundgren and Huey Lewis and The News. After their first album was added to over 200 radio stations across the US, it was reviewed as ‘too derivative’. Z-ROCKS never released its second album and disbanded in 1986.
From 1987 to 1997, Schwartz recorded and toured as a sideman, and went back to school (University of Houston) to study video production and digital media to keep up with the new digital music business.
Guy Schwartz served five terms as an elected member of The Harris County Democratic Party Executive Committee. He was also a founding volunteer at Houston’s Pacifica Radio station KPFT. In 1975, he founded the first ‘local music’ program. Schwartz is active in the efforts to legalize marijuana, protect middle-class consumers, and help them get their taxes back. Marlo and Guy Schwartz record musicians and bands at SOUTH by DUE EAST (a Guerilla Marketing Experiment and Movie Shoot, and Indie Music Festival in Houston Texas, USA). Since 2003, they have been making TV and radio shows, indie films and podcasts. They also put out compilation CDs to help promote the artists and the Houston, Texas, USA, original music community. They claim that they give artists video and mixed audio for free and hope it helps. Schwartz declared his nonpartisan candidacy for the U.S presidency in August 2015, but was defeated in Iowa. In 2016, Schwartz, Blue & Tausz founded The Guy Schwartz Foundation for Houston’s Original Music in Texas. This Texas non-profit is aimed at supporting, archiving and promoting original music, musicians and the Houston music scene.

After his family moved to Houston in 1962, he began playing drums at age ten. He then switched to bass at 15 and to guitar at 14. He was a student at Houston’s Memorial High School, where he was also a classmate with Bill Browder and Vince Bell. Schwartz, then fourteen years old, met Ray Salazar, a singer, in 1966. He began gigging in Old Market Square, Houston, Texas, at all-night dancehalls and clubs in Texas, southern Louisiana, and the east Texas Soul circuit.
Schwartz was a featured singer with Pete Samson & Roadmap 1973. He met Roger Tausz, the recording studio manager and started his recording career. Schwartz recorded four songs using Roadmap as a recording band. These included ‘Ride That Train’ which reached local radio and ‘I Found God at A Truckstop’ which was recorded by several, including Pete Samson & Kinky Fristman. However, Samson & Schwartz released it. These small successes gave Schwartz credibility and momentum that he used to build his regional music career.
In 1978, Schwartz released his first solo album, featuring collaborations with two dozen Texas musicians with whom he performed live (on guitar for the first time) in a loosely knit group called Guy Schwartz & The Zap Rhythm Band, including Knust, Tausz, Tony Braunagel and Billy Block, each of whom found careers in music.
