The child of an officer in the British Army officer, Chadwick spent his early years on various bases of the army within Singapore as well as Malaysia before relocating with his family back to England at the age of six. After forming his first group, The Kingdoms, who released one single on RCA and which Chadwick later described to be “dreadful”, Chadwick met guitarist Terry Bickers in 1987 through an advertisement, and then formed The House Of Love. The band released their debut album in 1988.
