Guido Pozzo is one of the most popular and richest Catholic Priest who was born on December 26, 1951 in Trieste, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy. Guido Pozzo (born 26 December 1951) is a Catholic prelate and an official of the Roman Curia.

On November 3, 2012, Pozzo was appointed Almoner of His Holiness, and at the same time, Titular Archbishop for Bagnoregio. He was ordained on November 17 with the Cardinal Secretary of State Tarcisio Cardinal Bertone with the assistance of Archbishop Gerhard Ludwig Muller, Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith along with Giampaolo Crepaldi.

Pozzo was the head of the Vatican delegation that started discussions on the 26th of October with the representatives who were members of the Society of St. Pius X in the hope of resolving philosophical differences between them. Discussions proved to be difficult, but over the course of several years Pozzo is now the Director of the Commission has described them as “constructive”.

Pozzo was born in Trieste, Italy. He enrolled in his first class at the Almo Collegio Capranica in 1970. He was a student at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome receiving a certificate and then a doctorate degree in dogmatic theology.

On the 24th of September, 1977, He was ordained as a priest from the diocesan diocese of Trieste. In 1987, he became an official of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF). Pozzo was named the Prelate of Honour of His Holiness on the 21st of November 2004. A renowned scholar, Pozzo is also an instructor at Lateran University and Adjunct Secretary of the International Theological Commission. Pope Benedict XVI named him secretary of the Pontifical Commission Ecclesia Dei on 8 July 2009, which was the day that the Pope joined to the Commission tightly to CDF and made the Prefect of the Congregation the president of the Commission.

On 30 April 2013 he was named a Consultor to the Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF). On 3 August 2013 he was released from his duties as Almoner and assigned once more to the Pontifical Commission Ecclesia Dei, now as Secretary.
