Brannon (born on 17 August 1959) was an American physician and activist in the political arena. Born in Los Angeles, California, Brannon is an alumni of the University of Southern California and Chicago Medical School. After the residency program, Brannon started a private practice of obstetrics within Cary, North Carolina.

In December of 2015, Brannon announced he would once more run for U.S. Senate in the 2016 election and challenge his incumbent Republican U.S. Senator Richard Burr.

On November 7, 2016, Brannon launched “The Brannon Broadcast,” a one-hour long syndicated radio program out of Raleigh, North Carolina.

The year 2013 was the time that Brannon declared that he would be running as an Republican for 2014. United States Senate election in North Carolina against U.S. Senator Kay Hagan. But, he was defeated in his primary election to Thom Tillis.

Brannon earned his bachelor’s degree at the University of Southern California in 1982. He earned receiving his doctorate at Chicago Medical School in 1988 as well as completing his residency at the University of Southern California Women’s Hospital, Los Angeles, in 1992. After his residency was completed, Brannon served as assistant professor of obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and also worked at the Wake Area Health Education Center. Since 1993, Brannon established his own private clinic at Cary, North Carolina. The practice has a 20,000-strong client network. In January of 2013, Brannon announced his Senate campaign at an event held by NC’s Republican Liberty Caucus as well as The Eastern NC Tea Party. The campaign of Brannon gained significant momentum after he spoke during the annual RedState gathering in August 2013. Brannon has been on Glenn Beck’s radio show on national. Additionally, Brannon has also received the support of U.S. Senators Rand Paul, Mike Lee Representative Thomas Massie, former Congressman Ron Paul, Erick Erickson Editor of RedState, Ann Coulter, and Thomas Woods. FreedomWorks, Gun Owners of America, National Association for Gun Rights, Moore Tea Citizens, Citizens for Guilford County and iCaucus have also endorsed his campaign.

Venturing into radio, Brannon launched “The Brannon Broadcast” radio program in November 2016. Syndicated out of Raleigh, North Carolina, the program is also broadcast live on Brannon’s Facebook page.
