Hardie was the captain of Hardie’s Scottish team in the 2017 World Mixed Curling Championship. Hardie led his team comprised of Rhiann Macleod Billy Morton and Barbara McFarlane to a 6-1-0 record following an initial group phase. The team was able to win four consecutive playoff games en way to winning the gold medal. They defeated Canada during the championship.

Before joining the Mouat rink Hardie had success in his own way as the skip. He and his teammates Blair Fraser, Dave Reid and Duncan Menzies won the 2017 Aberdeen International Curling Championship, Hardie’s first World Curling Tour win. The win earned the team a spot for the season-ending Champions Cup, his first Grand Slam event. The team was unbeaten, finishing to 0-4. Following the campaign, Hardie joined forces with Bruce Mouat, the Bruce Mouat, the World Junior champion skip, Bruce Mouat.
