Since moving from Berlin, Candy has collaborated with the German indie-pop group Abby as well as DJ Alle Farben, and electro-swing artist Parov Stelar. When he was 12 Candy was given a role in the world of film as a photo model of the role “Edmund” in The Chronicles of Narnia in the film The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe. Candy was a student at Rangitoto College where his love of the arts was nurtured. He was a part of the school’s winning team in the National Stage Challenge competition, being a part of the National Champions barbershop choir, and the winner of the AMI Showdowns “best supporting actor” for his part in the school’s show “Seussical”. At the age of 17 years old, Candy was on an School exchange program to Saint Ann’s School in Brooklyn to enhance his talents as a creative. In 2007, Candy was Troy in the production of NYTC’s The Disney High School Musical – which was the most popular local production in Auckland until that point. in 2008 Candy decided to give songwriting a try, and was a participant in the Play It Strange songwriting competition for students in secondary schools. The song he wrote “Lasts Forever” was awarded 7th spot. Mike Chunn – the founder of Play it Strange has helped guide Candy’s career in music from the beginning.

The year 2009 was the first time Candy quit dancing in order to pursue acting studies however at the close of the year , he decided to concentrate on music with the group “The Lost Boys”. In 2009’s New Zealand Battle of the Bands They made it to the top ten spots with their hit song “Hot Air Balloon”. After being offered a role on the screenplay Go the Dogs, directed by Jackie van Beek, Candy returned to film and stage, winning the two NAPTA “best supporting actor” awards for his performances in the stage productions that included Footloose along with Spring Awakening. Then, Shiloh Fernandez (Evil Dead, Red Riding Hood) was introduced to Candy and he was cast to play his first lead on a film, as Candy as Candy in Queen of Carthage, directed by Mardana Mayginnes.
Candy started his solo musical career in 2012 when he began performing in Auckland’s bars and pubs. He was instrumental in the establishment of live music venue The Portland Public House as the house music director and event manager. Candy was a part of the local music scene and was offered the chance to perform in front of audiences including some of the most famous artists like Everclear along with The Black Keys, and play with musicians like Mumford and Sons and Daniel Bedingfield. In January of 2013, Rachael Watson (Spin 33 Records) introduced Candy to Matthias Muller of Crazy Planet Records (Germany) that led to a solo music career in Germany.
On 4 March 2016, Candy released his first single off his debut album Plan A called “Back Into It”. Plan A was scheduled to be released on 6 May 2016.
