Former IBA as well as International Boxing Council (IBC) Light Middleweight titleholder, he is the winner on The Contender, an ESPN television show The Contender. Outside of the ring his job is at the Goodyear manufacturing facility in Lawton to provide for his wife and four children.
In the Contender season premiere, Brewer was picked for the Blue Team. He was victorious in his first fight on the show, against his opponent Vinroy Barrett. He also won his next fight, with Michael Stewart by unanimous decision. In his third and perhaps most difficult fight, Grady beat Norberto Bravo after being knocked down in the first round. The 26th of September, 2006, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, Grady defeated Steve Forbes for the Contender title and championship with a split decision.
