Giovanna Debono is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on November 25, 1956 in Victoria, Malta. Giovanna Debono, nee Attard (born on November 25 1956) was Minister for Gozo (Maltese Ministru ghal Ghawdex) in several Nationalist governments.
Then, in May of 2015 Debono left her position in the Nationalist Party after her husband was accused of fraud. She remained in the parliament in the form of an independent political figure. She didn’t run in this year’s Maltese general elections, and consequently she resigned from Maltese politics.
Debono was elected first in the House of Representatives in 1987 she became the second woman Nationalist Party member to be nationally elected. She was re-elected in each subsequent election. She was appointed Parliamentary Secretary for the Ministry for Social Development on April 17, 1995 and then was named Minister for Gozo at the time of 1998. She was appointed to the position in the year 2003. She was and confirmed in 2004, and confirmed in 2008. She was replaced as the Minister for Gozo by Anton Refalo after the Nationalists won the general election in 2013.
