Ghayath Almadhoun was born Damascus, Syria. He lives in Stockholm. Almadhoun is the author of four collections of poetry, including the most recent “Adrenaline” in Milano 2017. In Sweden the poet is translated in two volumes: Asylansokan (Ersatz, 2010) that was given by the Klas de Vylders Stipendiefond in recognition of writers from the immigrant community. He also co-authored Till Damaskus (Albert Bonniers Forlag 2014) along with Swedish writer Marie Silkeberg. The book was featured on Dagens Nyheters literary critic list for the top new titles and was later made into an audio play for Swedish National Radio. Alongside Marie Silkeberg he also have created a variety of poetry films.
