He was ranked at 27th of the Arabian Business Qatar Power List in 2012. Al Saad has also received the title of ‘Datuk’ the Malaysian equivalent to the British peerage, from the ruler of Malaysia. He also holds the post as chairman in a variety of businesses such as Al Imtiaz Investment Company, A’ayan Real Estate, Al Jazeera Academy, Rizon Partners, Jersey Group, Ghanim Bin Saad Al Saad & Sons Holdings Group, QatarAG and Rizon Jet. In addition, he serves as the General Manager and CEO for First Finance Company, consultant and board member of Barwa Bank.
Al Saad was a Board Chairman, CEO, and the Managing Director at Qatari Diar Real Estate Company between 2008 and 2011. Qatari Diar is the wholly owned real estate division from the Qatar Investment Authority and the Government of Qatar. He is the chief executive officer of the company. He was the Chairman of Barwa Bank from 2009 – 2010.
Al Saad joined the General Assembly of Qatar Charity in 2001. He became a Board Member in 2001. He was appointed as Chairman of the charity on 13 October 2010 and he remains the current Chairman.
Al Saad was a featured speaker at the ‘Renewal of the Arab World’ conference at the Arab Institute in Paris, January 2015, along with President Francois Hollande of France, Foreign Minister of France Laurent Fabius and Jack Lang, President of the Arab Institute and many other international leaders dedicated to building stronger ties between all faiths.
He was the Chairperson and Director at Barwa Real Estate Company (January 2006 to April of 2011). Barwa Real estate is a semi-governmental real estate firm that is controlled by 45% Qatari Diar. Qatari Diar and 55% listed on the Doha Stock Exchange.

He created The Jersey Group in 1994 and it is now named The Ghanim Bin Saad Al Saad & Sons Holdings (GSSG) Group and was later incorporated into in 2007. GSSG comprises more than 30 companies across the world and includes manufacturing, real estate engineering, contracting communications and information technology as well as aviation, automobiles and oil and gas and fitness, education and leisure, and fashion. The headquarters of the company are located in Qatar and its regional headquarters are at London, Cairo and Singapore.
His early work experience included the post of Director in the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs in 1998. Prior to that, he worked in his previous positions at the Ministry of Justice and the Supreme Council for Planning in Qatar. He was the head of the department of Ambassador to the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 1998 until today. He has also served as an advisor to the Qatari Prime Minister Qatar Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Al Thani, on investments in the Qatari Sovereign Fund, recommending a variety foreign acquisitions.
He held the position of Chairman of the Qatar Railways Company 2010–2011. Qatar Railways was set up under Al Saad’s chairmanship to drive the policy of having an integrated rail network inside Qatar and linking to the regional network of GCC (Gulf Co-operation Council) countries.
