On the 12th of January in the 12th of January, 2008 Meerschaert took on Kenneth Allen and took the victory through the triangle choke in round one. Five weeks after, Meerschaert stepped in the cage and faced Caleb Krull and won by unanimous decision. The judges scored the three rounds (29-28 29, 29-28, 29 -27). With no rest, Meerschaert was back to the cage for a second time in for four weeks. This time, his opponent would be Alex Carter. In the second round, Meerschaert did manage to create the triangle choke and submit Carter. His final fight with Freestyle Combat was on May 3, 2008, in which Meerschaert was victorious by beating Ryan Scheeper through an amrbar submission.
After a busy year in 2009, Meerschaert did not set foot on the cage to compete until May 2, 2009. He fought Kenny Robertson on Madtown Throwdown 19 and lost via a kneebar submission on round one.
Meershaert faced Eddie Larrea at Extreme Cagefigting Organisation 4 on March 20, 2010. Meershaert secured the win via an arm-triangle choke. April 17, 2010, Meershaert fought in Combat USA 19. Meershaert puched his way trhought and KO Jim Klimczyk and snatched the win.
Meerschaert moved to join the Madtown Throwdown promotion on July 25 in 2008. The first time he fought in a promotion, he was facing Mike Vaughn. With little time wasted, Meerschaert managed to climb onto Vaughn’s back, and pull off a rear-naked choke , and defeated the opponent. Next, Meerschaert face Curtis Bailey. The fight took place at Madison, Wisconsin on Madtown Throwdown 17. This was a five-round fight . Meerschaert was defeated in the fight by a Guillotine choke at the second round.

Gerald Edward Meerschaert III (born on December 18th 1987) is an American mixed martial artist participating at the Middleweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. A professional fighter in 2007 and beyond, he previously competed with his clubs, the RFA, Titan FC, and King of the Cage. He was one of the previous RFA Middleweight Champion.
Meerschaert started his pro MMA career in March 2007and fought in the Freestyle Combat Challenge 26 on March 10, after having trained for only a month MMA. The first time he lost, he was fight against Jay Ellis via a technical submission. Two months later, after losing his first fight and came back to claim victory via submission (kimura reversed double wristlock). The third MMA fight was a day later, on the 19th of May 2007, in a fight against Will Pace. He took the fight by an arm-wrestle in round one.
He started off by fighting on Gladiators Cage Fighting: Fair Warning on August 15, 2009 i His opponent was Jacob Kuester and Meerschaert managed to over power Kuester and submitted him via a neck crank. On the next fight, Meerschaert face off Morrison Lamb on Racine Fight Night 5 on November 28, 2009 in his hometown, Racine, Wisconsin. It was a short fight where Meerschaert submitted Lamb via a guillotine choke on round one.
