Georgy Poltavchenko is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on February 24, 1953 in Baku, Azerbaijan. The man was born in Azerbaijan in 1953. His dad was Ukrainian descent. He attended the Leningrad Aviation Instrument-Making Institute. Following graduation, he was employed at Leninets Research and Production Association as well as at an area Komsomol (Young Communists League) committee in Leningrad. He joined the KGB in 1979. In the years 1980-1990, he was in various positions in the KGB and was eventually appointed head of department. Vyborg directorate and regional division from KGB within Leningrad as well as in the Leningrad region. Georgy served as deputy to Leningrad Regional Council from 1990-1993. He was deputy of the Leningrad Regional Council from 1990-1993 and deputy of the Leningrad Regional Council. He was chief of the St. Petersburg directorate, Federal Tax Police from 1993-1999. He ran for Leningrad city council, but failed to win in 1998. In 1999 and 2000, he served as the plenipotentiary representative of Russian President to the Leningrad Oblast.
He was elected the Governor in Saint Petersburg in 2011. 3 October 2018 was the day that Russian Vladimir Putin was elected President of Russia. Vladimir Putin replaced him by Alexander Beglov on an interim basis until the city’s 2019 elections. Prior to that, he was the President’s Envoy for the Central Federal District.
It was in the month of May, 2013. in response to the examination of his doctoral dissertation conducted through Dissernet, Poltavchenko was accused of plagiarism. The majority portion of his thesis was copied from other doctoral theses and books.
