George William Baldi III (born August 29 1970) is an American musician best known for his role as the bassist of the singing group a cappella Rockapella from 2002 until 2014, as well as a support singer after that.

Bassist Barry Carl decided to retire from the band to explore various opportunities in 2002 Rockapella was without a bassist and required an alternative. The group was told by a close friend that the “true bass” could be located in Baldi however, the singer was living in Japan that time. They contacted him via email asking him to return to the US to audition to join the band. The group hired him for the position in May 2002 and immediately began to study the group’s setlist. Baldi recorded his part for Smilin’ the album released in 2002 which served as a bridge between Carl and Baldi’s bass. His debut concert as a part of Rockapella was held on August 1, 2002 , in Hartford, Connecticut at the East Hartford Town Green. Baldi’s smooth, soft, resonance bass is a wonderful contrast to Carl’s bass, which seemed to be rumbling from the bottom of the earth. Baldi’s inclusion in the band began the transformation of Rockapella to their current R&B-influenced sound and was also “the new sound of Rockapella” which the group describes it. Baldi has been singing a number of bass solos with Rockapella and has taken over the solos of Carl while singing some of his distinctive solos, both in original songs and covers that the group has added to their setlist throughout the time. Baldi’s range of vocals is extensive and he can switch to low bass and rumbles into high-pitched belting effortlessly. As of 2014, Baldi was able to step away from being a full-time performer with Rockapella in order to make way for Ryan Chappelle. Baldi is still a supportive band member until today.

Baldi applied for a position in Walt Disney World after graduating from college. In 1994, she began singing in The Voices of Liberty and later American Vybe, which were a cappella groups within The American Adventure pavilion at Epcot. Then, in 2001 Baldi was a part of an ensemble of men for a position at Universal Studios Japan located in Osaka. He tried to help them gain the job however, he was the only one selected from the group, and was given an audition for the Beetlejuice Rock and Roll show as Frankenstein. The work began on March 31st, 2001, which was the date of the park’s opening and Baldi relocated to Japan to work there, continuing to live and work in Japan for the next year, ultimately becoming a park vocal coach , in addition to performing duties.
