Eugene Patrick Glynn (born September 22, 1956, in Waseca, Minnesota) is an American professional baseball coach, as well as an ex-minor league second baseman and manager. He is the infield and baserunning coordinator for the Miami Marlins of Major League Baseball and was previously as the third base coach for the Minnesota Twins from 2015-18. He has also been a coach for several other MLB teams. As a player who was active, the player stood at 5’10” (1.78 meters) tall He weighed 155 lbs (70 kg) and was a right-handed hitter.

Glynn worked from 2007 to 2011 as an official member of the team of scouting of the Tampa Bay Rays, based in Waseca.

As a result of his success, Glynn was interviewed for the parent Twins’ vacant managerial opening in October 2014, after the firing of veteran skipper Ron Gardenhire. Baseball Hall of Famer Paul Molitor ultimately was hired as the Twins’ 2015 pilot, and he added Glynn to his first-year staff as third-base coach.

In 2019, he joined the Marlins as infield and baserunning coordinator.

Glynn became a free agent who was not drafted to the Montreal Expos in 1979 and went on to play seven seasons with Montreal’s farm program, including portions of three campaigns (1982-84) in his Triple A level. His first season, which was in the New York-Penn League of 1979 was his most successful and included 36 runs batted in over 64 games played and 71 runs scored and a batting percentage of .296. He played for five seasons (1987-88 and 1990-92) in short season-A baseball beginning with the league known as the New York Penn League. In 1990, his Spokane Indians, a San Diego Padres affiliate were the winners of the Northwest League championship.

Glynn was a graduate of Waseca High School and Minnesota State University, Mankato (then known as Mankato State University), where he played both basketball and baseball. In Minnesota, he was the premier “Mr. Basketball” in 1975.

In 2012, Glynn joined the Twins’ organization as manager of the Triple-A Rochester Red Wings. After a 72–72 season, the Red Wings’ best record in four years, Glynn returned to Rochester in 2013 and 2014, and led his club to identical 77–67 marks.
