Gary Andrew Varsho (born June 20th 1961) was an American professional baseball player as well as a manager and coach that played for Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Chicago Cubs, Pittsburgh Pirates, Cincinnati Reds, and Philadelphia Phillies.

Varsho along with his partner Kay has three daughters. daughter Andie and Taylor born on 19 October 1991 in April and May 12, 1994, respectively and son Daulton born on July 2, 1996. Daulton has been a pro baseball catcher with the Arizona Diamondbacks organization.

Varsho was the Phillies bench coach (2002–2006) and was interim manager for the last two games of the 2004 season, after Larry Bowa was fired. Varsho was fired as the Pirates’ bench coach on August 8, 2010. In 2012, he became a professional scout for the Los Angeles Angels. Since 2016, Varsho has served in the same capacity for the Pirates.

Varsho was chosen for the Chicago Cubs in the fifth round (107th overall) of the 1982 draft as a second-baseman. He was drafted in the fifth round of MLB debut in the Cubs on the 9th of July 1988. The first hit in the major leagues was through Ed Whitson on July 9 1988, in a game against San Diego Padres. After being transferred for the Pirates, Varsho connected off the Cubs Shawn Boskie to score his first major home run in the league in 1992 on the 2nd of July on Wrigley Field.
